Ernst Paul Kurz ist am 10. September 1907 in Stuttgart geboren. Er absolvierte von 1921 bis 1924 eine Lehre zum Damenschneider mit abschließend bestandener Gesellenprüfung. Ernst Kurz war verheiratet mit Hilde und gemeinsam hatten sie eine Tochter.Am 01.05.1941 war Ernst Kurz als Gefreiter bei den Schützen im Krieg eingesetzt und wurde am 01.07.1943 zum Obergefreiten befördert. Während seiner Zeit bei der Wehrmacht war er zweimal beurlaubt wurden; vom 03.06. bis 18.06.1943 und vom 23.04. bis 07.01.1944. Beide Male, um zu Hause Erholungsurlaub zu machen. Ernst Kurz führte während des Krieges ein Notizbuch und hielt darin u.a. taktische Zeichen seiner Infanterie-Division fest.
Ernst Kurz fiel am 10.10.1944 in Biervliet in den Niederlanden. Seine endgültige Ruhestätte hat er auf der Kriegsgräberstätte Ysselsteyn Block W, Reihe 2, Grab 46 gefunden.
